Years ago, when Ray and Diane Borgic were setting up housekeeping together, Ray said he was going to put up a new drapery rod and hang drapes in a bedroom. Six minutes later, Diane found him sitting and watching TV. “I thought you were going to put up the rod and drapes,” she said. “I did,” Ray answered. And he had, perfectly. That wasn’t the first time Diane had been impressed by her husband’s skill and efficiency, and it wouldn’t be the last.
Ray grew up on a farm in central Illinois, where building and repairing everything was part of daily life. He grew to love working with wood, and he earned an associate’s degree in carpentry from Rankin Technical College in St. Louis. Drafted and sent to Vietnam, he spent a year on the base at
Da Nang, managing a construction crew. That was his start.
Today, Ray brings his love for building and his decades of experience to all aspects of his remodeling business. He’s happiest when he’s hard at work, and he says he’ll never retire.
Over the years, Ray has earned the respect and trust of hundreds of customers. Dozens of them won’t let any other contractor touch their properties, and they call Ray whether they need a doorknob or a room addition. They appreciate his easy-going nature, his professionalism, and his ability to see the project from his customers’ view.
